For details, our provider numbers, and more information, see:

Where do I find information about approvals for the state-mandated courses you offer?

Each state-mandated course includes approval statements displayed at the start of the course. You can also find information on the State-Mandated Course Approval page.

Are your nursing courses approved for all types of nursing licenses?

YES.

Are your nursing courses accepted by my state nursing board?

YES.   We are an approved provider of continuing nursing education by ANCC, the American Nurses Credentialing Center. ANCC accreditation is accepted by the nursing boards of all U.S. states and territories.

Do you report course completions to all licensing boards?

NO.   We participate in automated reporting to Florida’s CE Broker service, and to the New York State Department of Education for NY-required courses (the NY system only accepts automated reports for mandated reporter licenses). All other reporting to boards and licensing agencies is your responsibility.

Do you report to CE Broker?

YES.   We automatically report course completions for all Florida licensees, Georgia nursing licensees, and Alabama OT licensees. Our CE Broker provider number is 50-2174.

Regarding CE Broker automated reporting: You must include your license prefix in front of your license number, ie, RN123456 (no spaces) in order for your course completion to be processed automatically by CE Broker.

How long does it take for my course completion to be reported to CE Broker?

We report completed course registrations to CE Broker every 24 hours. It may take 1–3 business days for your course completion to be processed by the CE Broker system. See the answer above for important information about how your license must be entered.

How long does it take for you to report results to the New York State Department of Education when I complete a NY-required course?

A report is sent to the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) within 24 hours after successful completion of a NY-required course. The NY reporting system only accepts automated reports for mandated reporter licenses and you must provide your social security number and birthdate when registering for the course. Wild Iris Medical Education has no control over this requirement and you may choose not to provide it when you register your course completion; however, in that case you will need to report to NYSED yourself.

How long does it take for you to report results to the Pennsylvania Department of State for the courses on child abuse recognition and reporting in Pennsylvania?

We report completions of the two PA courses electronically to the Pennsylvania Department of State (DOS) every 24 hours.

I have a PT/PTA license. Are your PT courses approved for my state?

Approval of physical therapy continuing education credit varies by state.

If you are not sure what your state’s licensing agency requires, check with them before taking a course. Contact information for PT licensing agencies in all 50 states is available on the website of The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.

I have a PT/PTA license and my licensing agency will accept CE courses from providers who are accredited by another agency or board. Is Wild Iris Medical Education an accredited continuing education provider?

YES.   Wild Iris Medical Education is recognized by the Physical Therapy Board of California as a Continuing Competency Approval Agency. We are accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and many other agencies and boards. Details

I have a Colorado PT license. Which category are your courses?

All of our courses are considered Category I for Colorado PTs.

I have an OT/OTA/COTA license and I don’t see my state in the list of states that accept AOTA-approved CE. Will your courses be accepted by licensing board anyway?

We provide the list of states which have formally stated that they accept occupational therapy continuing education courses from AOTA Approved Providers, but other states may also accept our courses. Check with your licensing agency before taking a course for licensure or license renewal if you live in a state that is not in the list.

Are your EMS courses accepted by the NREMT Board?

YES.

What is your Alabama Nursing Board provider number?

We do not have a provider number from the Alabama Board of Nursing. The Alabama Board accepts our courses without requiring an AL provider number because we are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Once you’ve completed a course on our website, go to the Alabama Board of Nursing website and enter your course completion information. On the CE form, leave the box for the AL provider number blank. This is acceptable to the Board.

I have a Texas OT license. Are your courses Type 1 or Type 2?

Our courses are Type 2.

I’ve never taken a course online. What do I do?

On our website, simply choose the course you want from the course list, read and study it, and take the test. When you pass the test (you can take the test more than once if needed; you need 70% or better to pass), you will complete a course evaluation and then register your course completion to receive your certificate. You also have the option to create a personal account, which will allow you to view and print your certificate(s) at any time, and which will save you time registering in the future.

What does CH mean?

CH is an abbreviation for “Contact Hour”.

For continuing education courses, 1 CH indicates that it generally takes 60 minutes to study the material, successfully pass a test, and complete an evaluation. 2 CH = 120 minutes (2 hours), 3 CH = 180 minutes (3 hours), and so on.

What is the difference between CE, CEU, and CH?

  • CE is an abbreviation for “Continuing Education”. It is commonly used to refer to continuing education courses.
  • CH is an abbreviation for “Contact Hour”. For continuing education courses, 1 CH indicates that it generally takes 60 minutes (1 hour) to study the material, successfully pass a test, and complete an evaluation.
    (2 CH = 2 hours, 3 CH = 3 hours, and so on.)
  • CEU is commonly used as a generic term to refer to continuing education courses.
  • CEU is also an abbreviation for “Continuing Education Unit”, which is a measurement for a unit of study generally equal to 10 Contact Hours for some professions; i.e., Occupational Therapy.
  • In nursing, most CE credit is awarded in CH (Contact Hours).

How long do your courses take?

On average, our courses take 60 minutes per Contact Hour to study the material, successfully pass the test, and complete the course evaluation:

1 CH = 60 minutes (1 hour)
2 CH = 2 hours
3 CH = 3 hours
4 CH = 4 hours
5 CH = 5 hours
6 CH = 6 hours
7 CH = 7 hours
8 CH = 8 hours

Completing the course registration takes approximately an additional 10 minutes, or less if you have created a personal account which saves information so you don’t have to fill it in each time you register.

What do I have to do to earn a certificate?

  • Study the course
  • Pass the test with a score of 70% or better
  • Complete the course evaluation
  • Register and pay for your certificate
Note: There is no payment required for free courses.

Can I print the course material?

YES.   Use the buttons at the top of the course or your web browser’s print function.

Are your tests timed?

NO.   However, you will not be able to save your answers and return some other time to complete the test, so we recommend that you allow yourself enough time to answer all questions in one session, complete the course evaluation, and register for your certificate (i.e., before leaving our website or turning off your web browser or computer).

Can I take a break when taking the test, or return to it on another day?

You can take breaks as long as you do not turn off your computer or web browser, or leave our website. You will not be able to save your answers and return some other time to complete the test, so we recommend that you allow yourself enough time to answer all questions in one session, complete the course evaluation, and register for your certificate.

I passed the test but I did not have time to complete my registration. Do I have to re-take the test?

If you have a personal account and you were signed in at the time you passed the test, you can go to your account and view the My Courses page. If the course has not expired, you will find it in the section where courses you passed but did not register for are listed.

If you do not have a personal account or you were not signed in at the time you passed the test, then you do have to re-take the test, pass it, and complete registration.

I passed the test but my Internet connection/computer stopped working.

I passed the test but was called away before I could register.

What score do I need to pass the test?

You must answer at least 70% of the questions correctly to pass the test. You can take the test over if you do not pass.

How do I know what questions I missed on the test?

When your test results are displayed, each question that you missed will be listed below the results.

Can I re-take the test if I don’t pass it?

YES.   We do not limit the number of times you can take the test.

Can I take a test after the course expiration date?

NO.   However, most of our courses are renewed after being revised and updated, so we recommend that you check to see whether a new version of the course has been posted. You can take the test for the new version of the course.

Why do I have to do a course evaluation in addition to passing the test?

The agencies and boards that accredit/approve our courses require us to collect course evaluation data and report it to them as part of their approval process.

In addition, most of our staff receive and read a daily report summarizing all comments received on course evaluations from the previous day, and we review the evaluation data and comments for each course when it is due for renewal or revision.

What is your refund policy?

If for some reason your certificate does not meet your Board’s requirements, we will gladly refund your money.
NOTE: Your certificate will be invalidated.

Sign in before you take a course or complete registration. A certificate will be produced for every active license in your account.

I entered my licenses when I registered for a course, but I don’t see all of them in my account. What happened?

Entering a license when you register for a course does not automatically add that license to your account. You must enter each license in your account before you take another course. Contact us if you need assistance in adding a license for a course you have already taken.

Do I have to take your courses to have an account?

NO.   You can create an account at any time.

I took one of your courses before. Does that mean I have an account?

Taking a course does not automatically create an account. Personal accounts were introduced January 11, 2012, so if you have not taken a course since then, you do not have an account.

If you took a course after January 11, 2012, and you chose the option to save your information after you took the course (you would have had to create a password to do this), then you probably do have an account. You would have received an email confirming that your account was created; we recommend that you check your email records first and then contact us for assistance if you believe you have an account but do not remember your account email. You can also try to retrieve your password if you believe you have an account.

If you did not save your information or have not created an account separately from taking a course, then it is probable that you do not yet have an account.
