Nursing License CE Requirements
CE Requirements for Nursing Licenses
Every two years, the Mississippi Nursing Board requires nurses to complete the following continuing education contact hours to comply with licensing requirements as per Title 30, Mississippi Administrative Code, Part 2815:
- 20 contact hours for RN license renewal
- 20 contact hours for LPN license renewal
- 40 contact hours for APRN license renewal. 10 out of the 40 hours must be specific to controlled substances.
License Expiration and Renewal
Registered Nurse Licenses:
Mississippi RN licenses expire between October 1 and December 31 in even-numbered years.
Licensed Practical Nurse Licenses:
Mississippi LPN licenses expire between October 1 and December 31 in odd-numbered years.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licenses:
Mississippi APRN licenses expire between October 1 and December 31 in even-numbered years.
