Every two years, the Massachusetts Nursing Board requires nurses to complete the following continuing education contact hours to comply with licensing requirements:

  • 15 contact hours for RN license renewal
  • 15 contact hours for LPN license renewal
  • 15 contact hours for APRN license renewal

Massachusetts LPN licenses renew every two years in odd-numbered years on the LPN's date of birth.


Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licenses:

Massachusetts APRN licenses renew every two years in even-numbered years on the RN's date of birth.
