REQUIRED FOR MICHIGAN NURSES Understanding and responding to misuse, abuse, and diversion of prescribed pain medications assessing risk; commonly abused/diverted drugs; interventions and Michigan initiatives aimed at addressing and preventing the problem. Fulfills requirement for 2 hours in pain and symptom management for nurses licensed in Michigan.

The Michigan Board of Nursing requires each nurse to take 25 hours of continuing education.
For MI nursing license renewal, continuing education is needed in the following topics:

2 hours on Human Trafficking for Michigan Healthcare Professionals
Michigan RN and LPN licenses renew bi-annually by March 31 in even-numbered and odd-numbered years.
