New York State Education Department (NYSED) Mandate: The NYSED now mandates all nurses and other licensed healthcare practitioners who have previously completed the one-time NYS Mandated "Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment" course to COMPLETE A NEWLY UPDATED TRAINING PROGRAM by April, 1, 2025. As of January 2024, NY Social Services Law Paragraph 413 was amended to require  additional coursework that includes protocols to reduce implicit bias in decision-making processes, strategies for identifying adverse childhood experiences, and guidelines to assist in recognizing signs of abuse or maltreatment while interacting virtually.

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) requires healthcare providers to take an Infection Control course every four years.
We report course completions to NYSED daily via an automated reporting system for the following professions:
LPN, RN, Physician Assistant, Specialist Assistant, Dentist, Dental Hygiene, Optometry, Dentistry - Limited License, Medicine, Medicine - Limited Licenses, Podiatry, Dental Hygiene - Limited License.
Infection Control Training for New York State Healthcare Professionals

Child Abuse
NYS mandates many professions and license holders including LPN, RN, physicians, dentists, teachers, coaches, etc., to take a one-time child abuse training.
Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training for New York State
We report course completions to NYSED daily via an automated reporting system for the following professions:
Creative Arts Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychoanalysis, Registered Nurse, Dentist, Dental Hygiene, Optometry, Dentistry - Limited License, Medicine, Medicine - Limited License, Podiatry, Psychology, Dental Hygiene - Limited License, Chiropractic, LMSW, LCSW, Restricted Dental Faculty.
All other professions/license holders, including teachers and coaches, need to self-report.
