Delaware License Renewal Information
Nursing CEU Requirements
The Delaware Board of Nursing requires 30 contact hours for RN license renewal and 24 hours for LPN license renewal every two years.
Three of the CE hours must be in the area of substance abuse:
Substance Abuse Education for Delaware Nurses: Drug Diversion Training and Best Practice Prescribing.
Registered nurse (RN) licenses expire on February 28, May 31, or September 30 of odd-numbered years. The expiration month depends on when your license was originally issued. All newly issued RN licenses expire on September 30 of odd-numbered years.
Licensed practical nurse (LPN) licenses expire on February 28 of even-numbered years.
Your advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license expires on the same date as your Delaware RN license. If you do not hold a Delaware RN license, your APRN license expires on September 30 of odd-numbered years.
