Ohio License Renewal Information

Nursing CEU Requirements

The Ohio Board of Nursing requires Ohio RN and LPN licensees to complete 24 contact hours of CE for their license renewal that includes 1 hour of Category A each renewal.
Ohio Nurse Practice Act (1 Hour)
If the license of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse has been inactive or lapsed in Ohio for two years or more, and the applicant does not hold a current, valid license in another jurisdiction, 2 contact hours of category A with learning outcomes that address scopes of practice for registered and licensed practical nurses, standards of safe practice, and nursing delegation is required.
Ohio Nurse Practice Act (2 Hours)

License renewal for RNs is October 31 in odd-numbered years, and for LPNs in even-numbered years.
