Nursing CEU Requirements

Required: 1 contact hour of Sexual Harassment Training
The 1 hour of sexual harassment prevention training CE course is intended to fit into the licensee’s regular CE requirements. One hour of the 20 hours of required CE for RNs and LPNs must be a sexual harassment prevention training course. For APRNs, one hour of the 80 hours of required CE must be a sexual harassment prevention training course.

The Illinois Board of Nursing requires RNs and LPNs to complete 20 hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) every two years for relicensure. APRNs are required to complete 80 hours of continuing nursing education.

  • RN and APRN license renewals are June 30 of even-numbered years.
  • LPN license renewals are June 30 of odd-numbered years.
