District of Columbia License Renewal Information
Nursing CEU Requirements
All health professionals, licensed, registered, or certified by a health professional board, will need two credits of CE pertinent to cultural competency or specialized clinical training that focuses on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) patients.
The District of Columbia Board of Nursing requires RNs and APRNs to complete 24 hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) every two years for relicensure.
LPNs are required to complete 18 hours of continuing nursing education.
- RN and APRN license renewals are June 30 of even-numbered years.
- LPN license renewals are June 30 of odd-numbered years
