| Suicide Risk and Prevention among Veterans for West Virginia Nurses: Mental Health Conditions Common to Veterans and their Family Members
REQUIRED FOR WV NURSES Fulfills WV requirement for 2 hours of continuing education on mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans. This course provides an overview of suicide risk factors, screening and assessment, prevention strategies, and management of the patient at risk for suicide.

Nursing CEU Requirements
The West Virginia Board of Nursing requires Registered Nurses (RN) to take 12 hours of continuing education during each annual renewal period and Advance Registered Nurses (ARNP) to take 24 hours every two years, 12 hours in pharmacotherapeutics, 8 of which may be used for renewal and reinstatement of Limited Prescriptive Authority.
Each nurse licensed to practice must
- complete 2hrs of CE for mental health conditions common to veterans and their families annually:
2 hour course on PTSD:
2 hour course on Suicide:
- complete 3 hours initially and then 1 hour thereafter annually of CE for best prescribing and drug diversion training if you prescribe, administer or dispense controlled substances.
